I attended the wedding of dear friends of mine last May wearing this boho beauty from Free People. At the eleventh hour, I was at the mall looking through racks for the perfect dress to wear when I realized where to go. As usual, Free People did not disappoint. I walked away with a pricey, but gorgeous vintage inspired piece that I may even consider wearing to my very own wedding. The whole night of my friends’ big day, I sashayed around the halls of the ancient Spanish monastery in which the wedding took place and imagined frolicking in a vast open field where sunflowers were in full bloom and butterflies magically rested on my fingertips during golden hour. Unfortunately, my imagination did not consider Miami’s bipolar weather and so the day of our shoot, we found ourselves in stormy conditions. The end result, however, was gorgeous.

The cascading waterfall dress perfectly hugs my body and leaves me feeling incredibly confident and comfortable. The tiered ruffles helps create curves and fullness, so if you are a little lacking in this department, this is a style of dress you should consider. Ruffles draw attention and with the amount of them on this dress, I decided to wear little to no accessories to prevent major clashing. Because of the high neck and boho feel of the dress, I went with an undo hairstyle with a crown braid adorned with a flower. The look evoked a sense of adventure and freedom in me without sacrificing my femininity and romance.

For additional styling options, try throwing a muscle tank or t-shirt over the dress for casual wear. It will create the illusion of a maxi skirt and minimize the amount of ruffles; allowing maximum use for accessorizing (pile on the necklaces, bangles, or try a cuff bracelet). For shoes, slip on gladiator sandals or ankle boots.
