Wow. Another year is out the door just when I was finally getting a handle on it. I started this year with quite a few changes and am saying goodbye to it with quite a few more. This year was nowhere near easy + the last few weeks I’ve had a lot of time to take a lot of it in.

I find myself unemployed once again. Gosh, that’s hard to write. In early October, I was fired from my job. I was reaching my boiling point in terms of the stupidity, unnecessary stress, + overwhelming workload I dealt with on a day to day basis with my boss. After finding out about some more sneakiness in the workplace on behalf of my boss, I decided I would voice my discontent with how things were once again being handled (or well, once again, mishandled). I prepared for a couple of days, well aware that this next conversation would probably be my last. Sure enough, it was.

I was upset. Of course I was. I wasn’t trying to lose my job, I just wanted it to be better. I wanted to be treated better. I wanted for us all to get the respect we deserved. After the amount of time, effort, + sacrifices I gave to my employer I felt I deserved better than being chewed up + spit back out at anyone’s convenience. I found myself bitter. Angry. Unsure of what was to come next. But somehow, relieved. For a year + a half nothing else existed, but the ongoings of this workplace. And for the last ten months, I was constantly + always tired, stressed, upset, bogged down, defeated, paranoid…now things were…quiet. I now had time. My own time. To think, to enjoy myself, to blog, to disconnect, to reconnect, to figure out my next move.

And I have. And when the time is right, I’ll let you in on that little secret.
